Our Practice Policies

Important information about communication, privacy, and our professional boundaries. If you have questions about any of these, please don’t hesitate to ask your clinician.

📞 Availability Between Sessions & Communication Policy

Phone:
Call your therapist’s confidential voicemail at (508) 635-4360 x [extension].
Always leave your name, number, and best times to reach you.
If you don’t hear back within 1 business day, please call again.
Voicemail should never be used for emergencies — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

💬 Social Media Policy

We do not accept friend or follow requests from clients on any social networking platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). This is to protect your confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.

We do not solicit or respond to public ratings, testimonials, or reviews — even positive ones — to maintain your privacy. If you have concerns about your therapy experience, we strongly encourage you to bring them up in session, where we can address them together.

📱 Texting Policy

Text messaging is not a HIPAA-compliant form of communication, and should be used only for limited, non-clinical purposes — and only if you and your clinician have agreed in advance to use this method.

If you and your clinician agree to communicate via text, it should be used strictly for administrative matters (e.g., scheduling, rescheduling, or notifying your clinician if you're running late).

Do not use text messaging to discuss clinical concerns, share sensitive information, or for emergencies. Please be mindful of who might have access to your phone or messages. We reserve the right to discontinue text communication at any time if it raises concerns around privacy, boundaries, or clarity.

Reminder: LIKEMIND is not a crisis facility. In the event of an emergency, do not contact us by text. Instead, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

📧 Email Communication & Security

We use Paubox, a HIPAA-compliant encrypted email service, to help protect the privacy of your personal health information.

When we send messages to you via email, they are encrypted end-to-end. You do not need to log in to a portal to read encrypted messages — you can open and read them directly from your inbox.

While our end of the email is secure, we recommend you avoid sending sensitive or clinical information by email unless your device and email account are also secure. If you prefer not to use email, please let us know — we’re happy to communicate with you via the Patient Portal or by phone.

Privacy Reminder: Anyone with access to your devices, email, or accounts (especially work/school email) may see messages. If you have concerns, talk with us — your privacy is very important to us.
