Cassidy Steinbrecher, MA (she/her)

Clinical Therapist (Associate)

Executive Functioning Coach

Professional Background:
Cassidy received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College in 2016 and has spent most of her career working as an Executive Functioning Coach in university settings supporting students as they navigate the academic, organizational, and emotional demands of college.

Through this work, Cassidy developed extensive experience supporting young adults in strengthening executive functioning skills such as time management, planning, task initiation, and follow-through. She has worked with a wide range of challenges, including ADHD, academic stress, and the transition to greater independence. Cassidy continues to provide executive functioning coaching for young adults at LIKEMIND.

Cassidy also provides clinical therapy for young adults. She works with a broad range of clients dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodivergence, and life stressors and transitions.  She has a particular interest in working with neurodivergent clients to explore ways that neurodivergence shapes their emotional experiences, identity, relationships, and mental health, in addition to skill-building.

Cassidy takes a practical, skills-based approach to executive functioning coaching, focusing on time management, organization, planning, task initiation, and self-advocacy. She tailors her coaching to each client’s needs, helping them develop sustainable strategies to reduce overwhelm, improve productivity, and achieve their personal and professional goals.

Therapeutic Approach:

In her therapy work, Cassidy supports young adults who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, ADHD/neurodivergence, depression, stress, and life transitions. Therapy provides space to explore the emotional and behavioral patterns that can impact motivation, confidence, and overall wellbeing.

Cassidy’s background in executive functioning coaching informs her therapy approach, allowing her to combine insight-oriented work with practical strategies that help clients translate understanding into meaningful change.

Her therapy often focuses on helping clients:

  • manage anxiety and overwhelm

  • develop healthier responses to stress and setbacks

  • improve self-awareness and self-compassion

  • build confidence in navigating academic, career, and life challenges

Cassidy strives to create a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and empowered to make lasting changes.

Executive Functioning Coaching Approach:

Executive functioning coaching focuses on building practical systems and strategies that support success in daily life. It is often a good fit for clients who are looking for practical tools, structure, and accountability as they work toward specific goals in school, work, or daily life.

Cassidy takes a collaborative, skills-based approach to coaching, helping clients identify the specific executive functioning challenges that are getting in the way and develop personalized solutions.

Coaching sessions may focus on areas such as:

  • time management and planning

  • organization and prioritization

  • task initiation and follow-through

  • building routines and sustainable habits

  • accountability and goal-setting

  • self-advocacy in academic or workplace settings

Cassidy works closely with clients to experiment with strategies, refine systems, and build habits that are realistic and sustainable. The goal of coaching is to help clients develop the tools and confidence they need to manage responsibilities more effectively and reduce feelings of overwhelm. Coaching may also include brief digital check-ins between sessions when helpful. For some clients, quick prompts, reminders, or accountability messages can make a meaningful difference in staying on track with goals and tasks throughout the week.
