With all the challenges inherent in the act of “growing up,” it is important to remember, and emphasize, the strengths of young adults today.  As a generation, young adults are highly educated, have strong work ethics, and are motivated to succeed.  They are more technologically savvy than any generation before them.  They are creative and are loath to settle – preferring to work toward bettering what has typically been the status quo.  Young adults are proactive; they care about others, the environment, and the world in which we live.  They are open-minded and embrace the diversity of different cultures and individuals with life experiences different than their own.  But most of all, they maintain an optimism that the world can be a better place and that they can play a role in making that change.
