There may be times when there are issues that impede your ability to attend therapy sessions in person. The COVID-19 pandemic is the most timely example of this, but there are also instances when distance can be an issue. One example is when a college student returns home during school break and wants to continue with regular therapy sessions, but is unable to attend in person. While our preference is for initial sessions to always occur in office and in person, there are times when it may be appropriate for follow up sessions to take place over our HIPAA-compliant, safe and secure video connection. Talk with your clinician about whether or not this is a suitable option for you. Keep in mind, teletherapy is only covered by some insurance companies and you will otherwise be charged the full cost of the session.
