Group Therapy

Group therapy sessions can be a great option for individuals who want to supplement their individual psychotherapy services or for those who simply prefer a supportive group environment.  Group therapy can be particularly useful in this day and age as we often choose to engage with others through text and social media rather than through in person connections.  Participating in a group experience can help you understand that there are others who share your struggles.  You will also benefit from hearing perspectives other than your own and broadening the context within which you view the world.  Our currently available groups are listed below:

DBT Skills Group for Young Adults

The goal of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is to “build a life worth living.” One of the modes for achieving this goal is to learn skills -- when we have the right tools and skill sets, we are more effective and successful. The skills taught in the DBT skills group include: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The hope is by mastering these skills, we can more effectively live our lives.

Target Population:

DBT has been found to be helpful for people experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. This includes emotion dysregulation, behavioral dysregulation, personality disorders, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, substance misuse, Bipolar Disorder, binge eating, Bulimia Nervosa, and self-harm.

Schedule:

Group meets virtually on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
